This board excels when the waves are pumping. It paddles really well, gets into waves easy and feels good under feet. I feel super confident on it and the tail gives it great hold. I've only ridden as a quad with the dhd fins. Would love to take this board on a trip to get some barrels!

This is a great board, for someone (like me) who has stepped down from a longer 7’ board to a short board. It has plenty of float and is easy on take offs, but still very movable. A great intermediate board!!

I was looking for a board that would be fun in small Florida waves, but also could handle solid overhead surf on trips. Well the black diamond checked every box. I ride this board 3 inches shorter than my height. The volume is concentrated under your body and the widest portion of the boards is basically right under your chest when paddling. This makes it paddle super easy, which brings me to bigger waves. This was my go to board on my last trip to Central America. We caught some heaving point that was well over head. The board held like a dream! From late bottom turns to couges right in the pocket I couldn’t believe that the board never ever felt squirrelly. It’s hard to describe, but I love this board, it’s like riding a cloud with razor blades on the bottom of it. Smooth yet razor sharp! Highly recommend the DHD Black Diamond!

Super fast and really manoeuvrable. As a 50+ year old surfer, this is a great shorter board for me. Boardcave provided excellent service. Great at keeping the customer informed about progress.

My Black Diamond goes great in all kinds of conditions. Easy to paddle and gets into waves early. I've taken it out in some solid 4-6ft beach breaks and it really comes to life. I especially like riding it as a quad for the steeper/more hollow stuff. The added volume gets it across flat and mushy sections easily as well. Definitely recommend it as an all rounder or for someone who wants more of a short board type outline
