APPROACH & STYLE
The Egg Not surfboard is equipped to catch plenty of waves even in average surf conditions. Its design includes features that enable the board to move smoothly through sections while maintaining the necessary looseness for easy turning. It also performs remarkably well in slightly bigger surf conditions. This board is ideal for waves ranging from knee-high to head-high, particularly in mushy to moderate conditions
IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS
To put it simply, the Egg Not is a mid-length board with a squash tail, a variation of our popular eGG model. As mid-length boards have gained popularity, we felt it was necessary to offer a squash tail version of the eGG. The moderate width in the center and semi-pointed, full nose give it a unique shape, while the squash tail adds more area, lengthens the rail line, and provides a more pivoty feel compared to a roundtail.
The front rocker of the Egg Not is relaxed, which aids in paddle speed, wave catching, and overall glide. The subtle curve on the back helps tighten the arc of your turns without sacrificing speed. The bottom has an almost flat entry with a little release towards the rails and a light single that blends into a subtle double vee, which peaks about 2 feet up on shorter boards. On bigger boards, over 21.75, the bottom becomes slightly more convex.
The Egg Not is thinner than other boards of its size, with leaner rails that make it easier to put in the water and hold better in bigger surf. The fin setup is up to you. For a higher performance feel, we recommend four fins, while for a more traditional, cruisier feel, a two-plus-one or single fin is suitable.
Overall, the Egg Not is a great addition to your quiver. It has excellent wave-catching ability in average surf and still works surprisingly well in bigger waves, giving you more waves and more fun.
