Rasta Torus Twin

4.6

Product rating: 4.65 out of 5 with 12 ratings

The Rasta Torus Twin was first designed in 2009 by Gary McNeill and pro surfer Dave Rastovich. It features a full length "Torus" channel sitting inside a single concave which provides hold in hollow sections and helps you generate speed when pumping with your front foot.

Because of this channel, the RTT has more control than your traditional twin fin and due to the absence of drag from the center fin can generate speed quicker than your thruster.

Please note:
  • This board includes a "Torus" channel as standard
  • Tree Tech Construction (as displayed) is not included. Please choose below

I saw a 5’7” and knew a little smaller, an 1/8” thinner would be perfect. And I was correct at 5’6” x 20” x 2 3/8”. I weigh 158 lbs. and 2 3/8” thickness gives me the bite and pop, I like in a board. I could’ve gone thicker for more paddling power, but Gary has a fairly flat deck that carries the foam into a nice taper at the rail. It’s still a good paddler without being corky. I’m sure the biofoam has something to do with this. It surfs well, in solid overhead waves with push, and surprisingly rips in thigh high windswell. I use the Rasta twins, and they give good drive and nice release when you’re flaring and blowing the fins out. It took a few surfs, to get the board figured out. And that’s probably me, but once you do, it is fast, drivey and loose without any overly slidey feel. Although, you can do controlled tail slides out of a cutback. Lastly, the construction is really strong, light and the flax cloth looks so cool. People are always commenting on how beautiful it is. What more do you need? Thanks Gary, stoked on mine.

Extremely fun surfboard! Performs better than a standard retro twin. Get a bit of extra thickness as the hull channel takes a bit out but gives it better responsiveness. Took a bit to figure out which fins I liked best but shes goes in anything!

The RTT is a speed machine! You know you’ve got a great board when everything just feels right. As soon as I picked it up, I knew the board was going to be good. Same in the water, as soon as I paddled on it, the board was balanced and just seemed to glide. Super easy to paddle into waves and really fun to surf...I couldn’t be more happy with my Gary McNeill RTT.

Wasn't too sure about the board at first as I haven’t had much experience on a twin fin but persevered with it and quickly learned to enjoy it. Now it’s pretty much the most ridden board in my quiver.

The twin fin goes really well in 2 foot plus and okay in 1-2. Likes a clean face to put down clean rail to rail turns, also has really good drive off the bottom and controlled release when wanted.

The RTT goes really sick. It floats a lot better than it seems based on the streamlined dimensions. Personally I was worried it wouldn't ride enough like a fish, but so far it has felt really solid, effortless speed, clean arching manoeuvrability. I'm using the (Futures) K1 keels and they are super good, great momentum with great control on small to medium sized waves. I was surprised how responsive it was, very controlled and simple to surf, it feels lively and cooperative.
