Wave Pools have certainly come a long way since the days of bobbing up and down with 200 strangers in a nasty pool that only surges up and down slightly. There are now standing barreling waves over a soft padded surface you can skim/surf into and get barreled as long as you stand. There are surfable (although not great) waves which we have all seen like the Wild Wadi Wave Pool in Dubai or Surf Snowdonia in the U.K.
But even more recently and amazingly, The Kelly Slater Wave Pool Company released footage of the man himself (Kelly Slater), tearing apart a perfectly rippable, barreling, legitimate man made wave! And this is only the beginning of what we are about to see. It won't be long now until we see these pools popping up all over the world and people will be able to surf anywhere they wish, as far inland and away from the ocean as possible.

This is only the dawn of a new surfing era!
