This is my first shortboard, and I am absolutely loving it. I was hesitant at first because the nose is narrower but it is surprisingly very user friendly and easy to paddle. Turning on the phantom feels so crisp. I have been pushing this board into bigger surf and it hold its own. Only downside I see to this board is it seems very fragile, but i guess thats is just something you give up for a board that feels this great

I’m 5’9 and 160 lbs. My first board was a Torq Summer 5 5’10, 38L. I needed to upgrade to something smaller that would allow me to start proper manœuvres. Bought the round tail Pyzel Phantom 5' 11" x 19 3/4" x 2 1/2" - 31L (used Boardcave volume calculator) and I am delighted with my purchase! First session was difficult but once tamed this board is amazing. Quick to react in turns and very fast down the line, the hardest part for me is probably the paddling due to my positioning on the waves. I’ve been working on my technic on a surfskate in order to progress faster with the board. The combination of both got my friends to start complementing my surfing for the first time. I mostly take the board in 3 to 7ft waves. So far couple of pressure dings despite XTR tech but the board seems really sturdy. Would highly recommend that board!

Beautiful board for European waves. I’m 6.3 and got a 6.1 which has been perfect. Nice volume to get into waves but still high performance. Loved it for my Portugal winter. You can put so much pressure through the turn and I find it holds beautifully and enough rocker for those steeper days. Love it

My go to shortboard for most conditions. Works great as a daily driver and will also push into bigger surf, even with the squash tail. I've used it for travel and its worked great for me in beach, point, and reef break.

I live in Hawaii, and this has been my favorite board for everyday conditions. It has some of the HPSB feeling, carries good speed, and the low rocker is helpful with paddling into those smaller/weaker waves. I've pushed the board up to the 7 ft. range, and it feels surprisingly at home there as well. The board feels a little more suited for drawn out turns but is still quite responsive for the dimensions. I will mention that like any PU board, it does dent fairly easily. All in all, this is a great, user-friendly board to have in your quiver for that 2-7 range.

The Phantom is a fantastic board. It is very easy to get used to and very user friendly. It feels safe and forgiving. It's a board you can rely on whatever the conditions are between 2 to 5-6 ft waves. So, very reliable and user friendly, yet it's definitely a high performance surfboard. It turns well, it's fast and responsive. The only downside I would find to this board is when the waves get bigger, the fuller rail doesn't 'knife' trough the face of the wave as well as other boards that are more oriented towards punchier waves. Also at very high speed the bottom turn can become a bit sketchy. But for waist high to a little over head, it's perfect. I've had a lot of fun with it, and I've improved my surfing. It's also one of the best paddlers I've tried so far.

My go to short board for waist to head high. Large sweet spot and stable but maneuverable.
