Twin Fin Surfboards

Twin Fin Surfboard have been around much longer than you think. Dating back as far as mid to late 1940's with Bob Simmons experimentations into planning hulls and utilized parallel twin keels to help trim along the face of a wave with more projection and control instead of controlled drag. Since then, the twin fin has gone through many variations making their biggest impact in the late 70's when Australian Surfing Icon Mark Richards also known as MR, started dominating professional surfing with his re-invented twin fin design. From 1977 to 1981 Twin Fins were the pinnacle of performance surfing design.

Twin fin surfboards come in many shapes and sizes these days, including performance orientated designs like the DHD Twin Fin, alternative designs such as the Gary McNeill - Rasta Torus Twin, classic retro fish like Panda Surfboards - Astro Zombie and the performance hybrid style like the Haydenshapes - Misc.

The Shiitake is the ultimate performance fish board. The nose of the board is flat enough for a great amount of glide whilst paddling, and the vee concave that runs out of the vail helps to keep this board very maneuverable. The Shiitake performs best in waves shoulder high + and has been designed to be ridden as a Twinzer. The Twinzer fin layout is the same as a regular twin but with the addition of smaller side bite type fins that sit in front and closer to the rail line. The idea behind this is that the smaller leading fins break the water before the larger fin giving the board a more lively feeling noticeable when making tight arcs. You can also configure the Shiitake in all other fin layouts and it will work well. See more

Twinner
T Patterson
$635.00

The Twinner is designed for those who love speed and want to surf a board that is fast yet nimble. A slightly fuller outline with the wide point forward gets you into waves easily, while the single concave to Vee out the tail gets you generating speed right on the take-off but allows you to surf it rail to rail quickly and easily. Fast, high-performance surfing at speed.

The Twinner works in anything from knee-high to a little overhead. Better on a clean, fast wave, but can handle a bit of chop with ease. Works best with bigger side fins for extra drive, and a smaller trailer for a bit more control, but surfs great as a standard thruster or quad as well. See more

Devil Fish
T Patterson

$635.00

Not your typical "retro fish" the Devil Fish brings a whole new level of progressive performance surfing to a traditional design. The Devil Fish, at first sight, looks more suited to small to medium clean days, but you will be surprised at what this board can handle and where it can put you. Rip the bag out of either small mushy or punchy waves, carve long sweeping turns or hit the lip a 100 times, even punt it off that section, this board does it all. Works best as a twin or a quad depending on your style. See more

The Happy Twin is a modern interpretation of the classic twin fin winged swallow tail. Designed for ultra fast, down the line speed and easy paddling. The Happy Twin incorporates a full outline with the wide point pushed forward to make generating speed across flat sections a breeze. The single wing just behind the side fins creates easy turning and pivoting for reactive, fast turns. The beak nose feature, pared with the unique deck concave around the front foot gives a comfortable broken in feeling and old school aesthetics. As this board is designed for ultimate fun, we recommend ordering the board the same height or slightly under, an inch wider and a touch thicker than your everyday board.

The bottom concaves of the Happy Twin compliment the rocker by allowing the board to roam freely at nearly all wave types around the world and perform in most conditions while excelling in weaker, slow waves. Coupled with the flatter rocker design and low rails, The Happy Twin turns on a dime and will have you smiling ear to ear. The thruster fin configuration allows you to add a stabiliser for increased drive and stability while still having the overall feel of a twin fin. See more
